My Actual Food Plan
So the food plan that I have posted is pretty close to the one inpatient gave me when I left. It was a weight gain plan, so I adjusted it so I could maintain.
The following food plan uses the diabetes exchange lists (links to starches as an example) even though I do not have diabetes.
I don’t follow it exactly so I wanted to post what I actually do eat when I say I’m “following my food plan”. (Note: Not following it doesn’t count as breaking my abstinence. My abstinence is not restricting my food in order to lose weight. Any deviance from the food plan usually isn’t to control my weight but general laziness, lack of available food, etc.)
Breakfast:
1 Protein (3/4 cup of yogurt or 2 eggs)
2 Starch (2/3 cup of granola or 2 pieces of toast)
1 Fruit (Banana or 1 cup of orange juice)
1 Fat (1/2 TBS. of peanut butter or 1/4 cup of cheese)
Lunch:
3 Protein (9 slices of turkey meat)
2 Starch (2 pieces of bread)
1 Fruit (1 cup of orange juice)
1 Veggie (1 cup of V8 juice)
1 Fat (1 TBS of dressing or 1/4 cup of cheese)
Dinner:
4 Protein (Deck of card size of chicken. I usually eat a bigger portion.)
2-3 Starch (1 roll, 1/3 cup of rice, 1/3 cup of pasta)
1 Fruit (1 cup of orange juice or 3-4 peach slices)
1 Veggie (1 cup of V8 juice)
1 Diary (1 cup of milk)
2 Fat (1 TBS. of dressing, 1/4 cup of cheese)
I think it’s apparent that I don’t get enough veggies or dairy. I really can’t stand any vegetable besides asparagus and artichokes (and it’s hard to buy those in “bulk” unlike frozen broccoli) hence the V8 juice.I also am not a fruit fan hence the orange juice. I rarely eat “white” starches unless it’s on a hamburger. We try to eat as much wheat/grain stuff as possible. It’s hard to do this without a dietician, and lord knows how much those cost!
I may start weighing myself to make sure I’m not gaining unnecessary weight, but weighing is a big trigger to restrict food. I just don’t want to go over my weight because I should be maintaining (I’m 20 pounds heavier than my lowest, anorexic weight).
Any thoughts?
EDIT: When I put I hardly eat white starches, I meant bread and rice. I do eat regular pasta. Sorry about that. :-)

Hi
I was anorexic too and am so proud that now I am recovering and am in control of my life again :) I must say that now I am more happy than when I was anorexic.. yes sometimes I do have the urge to eat less and / or throw up especially when I feel down but fortunately I did not do so yet!
Thanks for this blog
Keep it up :)
