Lowest of Low

September 6, 2008 at 11:54 am (12 Steps, Journal, Life) (, , , , , , )

I really thought my low days were behind me. After my entire house burned down, I thought, “What else could possibley go wrong in my life?” Well – we are officially broke. Like…literally. 0.00 dollars in our bank account. And it’s only Sept. 6th. We don’t get paid until October 1st. My credit card is maxed out. What the Hell are we supposed to do?

My brother is coming to stay with us and I’m hoping it turns out to be an opportunity. I really hope he decides to live with us for a bit so he can help out with the rent. We really need that. And he (in my opinion) needs me to help him straighten out his life. He’s an addict, and I want to take him to a few NA meetings. I know how much 12 step has helped me…I hope he allows me to take him so it may help him as well. The problem is that his disease wins most of the time and convinces him he has no problem. Just because he may not be doing his drug of choice doesn’t mean he still doesn’t suffer from his disease. Why do you think he has to move in with us? Because my dad won’t enable him anymore and he’s been living off of other people his entire life. God bless the boy…I love him to death…but he’s almost 30 and still lives a miserable life.

Hopefully this will be a great chance for the both of us. PLEASE GOD – HELP ME. HELP US.

I will send prayers your way for you, your brother and your family and current situation. I really do believe that even when situations seem hopeless, God has something more powerful in mind for us….. hang in there.

I hope help finds you. Have you talked to any relief agencies? Had a friend who got food stamps in your situation and they got him through a bad couple of months. I hope your journey trends upward again.

Father, I rejoice in the truth that You supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19)- without regard to my paycheck or other expected sources of income. I need this truth to manifest now. I cannot make ends meet; however, my eyes are on You, Father. Those who seek You shall not lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10). I resist anxiety about my current shortfall in resources. Your Word says that I am to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let my requests be made known to You and Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind (Philippians 4:6-7). I am requesting more funds, reduced expenses, or whatever will close the gap in my finances. I ask for You mercy and forgiveness for any disobedience, dishonesty, delaying, or anything else I have done wrong that has caused me to be in this situation. Teach me to always put Your financial priorities ahead of my desires and wants for Your Word delclares that if I am willing and obedient, I will eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). Surround me with he favor You promised to those who are in right standing with You (Psalm 5:12). I believe Your Word that says You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all I ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

I hope this helps! Praying His Word assures us we are praying His will.
